The Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reached an agreement with the United States on coordinating actions to combat organized crime

On February 28th, a delegation composed of senior officials from multiple departments including the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Public Security, and Ministry of Defense met with US Secretary of State Rubio in the United States. After the meeting, the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the meeting was friendly and productive, and had reached an agreement on a series of coordinated actions between the two countries to combat organized crime. Previously, Mexican President Simbaum stated that this meeting is part of the communication between Mexico and the United States. The Mexican government is seeking a permanent suspension of tariffs on products exported to the United States and hopes that the other party will provide more support to prevent the flow of weapons into Mexico and curb organized crime in Mexico. In addition, Mexico is advancing cooperation negotiations with the United States to reach a tariff related agreement as soon as possible.
