The White House clarifies Musk’s identity, stating that he is not an employee of the Government Efficiency Department

On February 19th, although Musk’s name is seen as almost synonymous with the newly established Department of Efficiency, the White House clarified that Musk does not work for the department. White House Chief of Staff Joshua Fisher stated that Musk is a senior advisor to the President and his authority is not higher compared to other senior White House aides. Fisher stated on Monday evening that Musk’s role should be viewed separately from the government efficiency department he supports.
