On February 16th, Egyptian security sources announced on the 15th local time that Egypt is in close communication with all parties to reach an agreement on establishing an interim committee to oversee the rescue and reconstruction work in Gaza. The source also stated on the same day that the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) had told the Egyptian side that it would strictly abide by the three-stage ceasefire agreement and promised not to participate in the management of Gaza in the next stage.
