Egyptian and Malaysian leaders call to reaffirm opposition to expelling Palestinians from their land

On February 15th, Egyptian President Sisi had a phone call with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on February 14th, reiterating their opposition to the expulsion of Palestinians from their land. The Egyptian presidential palace said in a statement on the same day that the two leaders discussed the situation in Palestine and believed that international efforts should be strengthened to establish a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital based on the 1967 borders, which is the only guarantee for achieving lasting peace in the region.
