On February 8th, according to the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), as of the week ending February 4th, speculators’ net long positions in COMEX gold decreased by 366 contracts to 230226 contracts. The net long position of COMEX silver held by speculators increased by 11052 contracts to 37370 contracts. The net long position in COMEX copper has increased to 17197 contracts. The net long position in NYMEX platinum has increased to 12482 contracts, reaching a new high in nearly three months. The net short position in NYMEX palladium has dropped to 6766 contracts, hitting a 10 week low.
