The Colombian government has declared a state of internal unrest in some northern regions

On the morning of January 24th local time, the Colombian government issued a decree announcing that the Catatongbo area, the Cucuta metropolitan area, and two cities in Cesar province in the province of North Santander have entered a state of internal turmoil, which will last for 90 days, in response to the humanitarian crisis caused by recent armed conflicts in the region. This regulation ensures that in times of internal turmoil, the government is allowed to take extraordinary actions to restore public order, including strengthening military and police forces to control territory, restricting the transportation and commercialization of materials used by armed groups, and conducting international coordination and management of humanitarian resources.
