On January 18th, UN Secretary General Guterres announced through a spokesperson the appointment of Sigrid Kage as the interim coordinator for the UN Middle East peace process. It is reported that Sigrid Kage will take over from Thor Wenesland. Sigrid Kag previously served as Deputy Prime Minister of the Netherlands and Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for the Gaza Strip.
