Trump requests the US Federal Appeals Court to reconsider his defamation of writer Carol case

On January 15th, US President elect Trump requested the federal appeals court to reconsider his defamation case against writer Carol, attempting to overturn the jury’s previous verdict. Previously, the jury ruled that the fact that Trump defamed writer Carol after sexually assaulting her in the mid-1990s was established, and ordered Trump to pay Carol $5 million in compensation. Trump’s lawyer has submitted a request to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals to hear the case as a whole, stating that there were errors in the court’s acceptance of relevant evidence during the trial process, which may have a negative impact on future cases. If this request is not approved, Trump may seek further review by the Supreme Court.
