On January 14th, a 5.0-magnitude earthquake occurred at 20:58 on January 13th in Dingri County, with a depth of 10 kilometers. After the earthquake, the Department of Transport of the Xizang Autonomous Region arranged the regional highway development and emergency support center to dispatch the Shigatse, Ali highway maintenance departments and regional high-grade highway maintenance units as soon as possible to patrol and investigate the damage of national and provincial trunk roads within the earthquake affected area. After preliminary investigation, as of 23:30 on January 13th, no blockages have been found on national and provincial trunk highways such as National Highway 318 and 219, Provincial Highway 515 and 303. In view of the aftershock risk that still exists in the future, in order to prevent the occurrence of secondary disasters, the road maintenance unit of the Xizang Autonomous Region plans to check the damage of road infrastructure in the earthquake affected area again on January 14.
