On January 11th, Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly stated that she will not run for the position of Prime Minister to replace Justin Trudeau. Joly, who has long been seen as a contender for the leader of the Liberal Party, said she will focus on her job before Donald Trump takes office on January 20th and threatens to impose tariffs on Canada.
