Over 3000 flights suspended in the southern United States due to winter storms

On January 11th, a powerful winter storm swept through the southern United States, causing snowfall and freezing. More than 3000 flights were forced to be grounded, and passenger train services were also interrupted. FlightAware’s data shows that as of 2:55 PM Eastern Time on Friday, 3419 flights have been cancelled in various locations. Among them, Hartsfield Jackson International Airport in Atlanta and nearby Charlotte Douglas Airport account for more than half. In addition, airports in the Dallas area that were severely affected on Thursday cancelled hundreds of flights on Friday.
