Chinese enterprises donate funds to Algerian universities for education

Algiers, October 30th (Xinhua) — China Petroleum Africa Corporation recently held a handover ceremony for teaching equipment at the Second University of Algiers.

More than 200 people, including Zhao Pingsheng, Acting Charg é d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Algeria, Rachmanni, President and Vice President of the Second University of Algiers, as well as representatives of Chinese enterprise employees and teachers and students of the university, attended the event and witnessed the donation ceremony.

Rahmani expressed his heartfelt thanks to PetroChina for its donation, saying that the establishment of the Chinese Department of Algiers Second University is not only a witness to the friendship between China and Argentina, but also provides a new platform for the two peoples to strengthen communication and understanding. He hopes to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Chinese enterprises in the future.

Zhao Pingsheng stated that supporting the development of local education is a concrete manifestation of China Petroleum actively fulfilling its social responsibility. He hopes that China Petroleum will consolidate its oil cooperation with Algeria and make new contributions to promoting the economic and trade development of the two countries and deepening their traditional friendship.

Ren Yongsheng, Director of China Petroleum Africa Company, stated in his speech that China Petroleum adheres to the cooperation concept of “mutual benefit and win-win” and has made due contributions to Algeria’s oil industry through long-term oil cooperation. At the same time, PetroChina actively fulfills its social responsibility, supports local education, and hopes to make a modest contribution to improving the teaching environment of Algiers Second University through this equipment transfer.

At the handover ceremony of educational materials, Chengdu cultural and artistic groups performed intangible cultural heritage on site, actively interacting with teachers and students, and creating a lively, warm, and friendly atmosphere.
