Beijing, March 12 (Xinhua) — Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to China, Farkhd Alziev, stated in an interview with Xinhua News Agency that China plays an important role in global development today. The just concluded Two Sessions not only play a crucial role in China’s political life, but also have significant implications for the international community.
Alziev expressed that he is very concerned about China’s two sessions, especially hot topics such as China’s development and foreign policy.
“China’s contribution to world economic growth remains at around 30%, which largely determines the process of global sustainable development. Against this background, the Chinese government has included the promotion of high-quality joint construction of the the Belt and Road, deepening multilateral, bilateral and regional economic cooperation, expanding high-level opening up to the outside world, and actively stabilizing foreign trade and foreign capital into its work tasks this year.” Aziyev said.
When it comes to bilateral relations and cooperation, he said that the close and friendly relationship and all-round cooperation between Uzbekistan and China are developing rapidly, and fruitful results have been achieved in various fields of cooperation. In January 2024, Ukraine and China decided to elevate their bilateral relationship to a new era all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership, and the cooperation between the two countries is exemplary
Alziev said that economic and trade cooperation is one of the main directions of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and China. Nowadays, China is Uzbekistan’s most important investment and trading partner. In 2024 alone, over 1000 Chinese funded enterprises were newly registered in Uzbekistan. Both sides are implementing many major joint investment projects in Uzbekistan, involving high-tech, energy, chemical, machinery manufacturing, electrical engineering, and infrastructure modernization.
“Uzbekistan and China have carried out close cooperation under the framework of jointly building the the Belt and Road. The China Kyrgyzstan Uzbekistan railway project launched in December 2024 is of historic significance,” he said.
Alziev stated that cultural cooperation holds an important position in the bilateral relations between Ukraine and China. In 2024, the “Uzbekistan Culture Day” event was held in China. The cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism is constantly strengthening, and the number of flights between cities in the two countries is increasing. In December 2024, Ukraine and China signed a mutual visa exemption agreement and launched the “Uzbekistan Tourism Year” campaign in China.
Uzbekistan is willing to further expand all-round cooperation with China, “said Arsiyev, believing that cooperation in various fields between Uzbekistan and China will reach a higher level by 2025.
