On March 15th, the first batch of materials delivery ceremony for China’s 35 MW solar photovoltaic power plant equipment project was held in the province of Artemisa, Cuba on March 14th local time. Chinese Ambassador to Cuba Hua Xin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Rivas, and Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Amaran attended the meeting. Chinese Ambassador to Cuba, Hua Xin, stated in his speech that China is willing to take this project as an opportunity to contribute its strength to ensuring energy security and promoting sustainable social development in Cuba. It is reported that the project includes the construction of seven photovoltaic power stations across Cuba, and the relevant construction materials will be fully in place by the first half of 2025. After grid connected power generation, it will further enhance Cuba’s clean power supply capacity, and is expected to save 18000 tons of imported fuel annually, reducing the country’s energy burden.
