On March 9th, local time, according to NBC News, a person who received an email and a government official said that about 80000 employees of the US Department of Health and Human Services received an email on the evening of March 7th, offering them “voluntary severance pay”. Employees who voluntarily resign before March 14th will receive a one-time payment of up to $25000. The White House and the US Department of Health and Human Services did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
