Slovak Prime Minister: Will veto aid to Ukraine at EU special summit

On March 4th, Slovak Prime Minister Fizo announced at a press conference that he will veto EU financial and military aid to Ukraine at the EU special summit on March 6th, and demand EU support for Ukraine to resume Russian natural gas transit transportation. Fizo said that the EU’s assistance to Ukraine will only prolong the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Slovakia supports peace and will not agree to and participate in any initiative to arm the Ukrainian army, let alone assist Ukraine militarily and economically. Fizo once again emphasized that the strategy of ‘seeking peace through strength’ has been proven to be unfeasible.
