On April 26th, Cui Dongshu, Secretary General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, issued a statement stating that the import volume of Chinese cars has continued to decline at an average annual rate of around 8% from 1.24 million in 2017 to only 800000 in 2023. In 2024, the import of automobiles reached 700000 units, a year-on-year decrease of 12%. From January to March 2025, there will be 95000 imported cars, a year-on-year decrease of 39%, which is a rare significant decline from January to March in recent times. Among them, 39000 imported cars were sold in March, a decrease of 27%, with a slight improvement in the decline.
