Italian Interior Minister: Albanian immigration detention center repatriates foreign citizens for the first time

On April 20th, local time, Italian Interior Minister Piantedovi announced on social media platform X that Italy’s immigration detention center in Jadel, Albania, is repatriating foreign citizens for the first time. According to Italian media reports, the repatriated citizen is a 42 year old Bangladeshi who arrived in Italy in 2009 but was deported for “constituting a social hazard” and has committed multiple crimes, including domestic violence. Piantedovi said that the Italian government will continue to crack down on illegal immigration.
