On April 20, according to the WeChat official account of the “Chinese Embassy in India”, on April 19, 2025, the mainstream English newspaper of India, the Times of India, published a written interview with Ambassador Xu Feihong. Ambassador Xu introduced the high-level exchanges, economic and trade cooperation, and cultural exchanges between China and India, and clarified China’s solemn position on opposing the United States’ indiscriminate imposition of tariffs. Xu Feihong stated that China has never made mandatory demands on restricting the export of relevant equipment and personnel to India. On the contrary, China is always willing to share its experience and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with friendly countries. However, the reality is that it is very difficult for Chinese people to obtain Indian visas, Chinese enterprises in India are often treated unfairly by unfriendly people, and there are also voices in the media that do not welcome Chinese investment from time to time, which have had a negative impact on Chinese society. Therefore, on this issue, both sides need to move towards each other and work together.
