Trump’s move puts more federal civil servants under presidential control

On April 19th, US President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he is pushing for a major reform of the US civil service system and is preparing to release new regulations to convert thousands of professional federal employee positions into political appointees. On his first day in office, Trump signed an executive order declaring that the president has broad powers to hire or dismiss senior civilian personnel. The new changes will give the command a specific scale and form. In the future, professional government employees engaged in policy affairs will be classified as’ policy/professional establishment ‘and will be required to meet the highest standards of conduct and performance, “Trump posted on his social media platform.” If these government workers refuse to advance the President’s policy interests or engage in corrupt behavior, they should not continue in their positions
