On April 13th, it was reported that the US Court of Appeals ruled on April 11th that the Trump administration can lay off employees of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), but cannot dissolve the agency. Previously, Trump told reporters in February that the agency should be disbanded. The White House submitted a motion to lift the preliminary injunction, but the appeals court rejected the motion but allowed the layoffs to continue.
