On the evening of April 13th, the media office in the Gaza Strip announced that the Israeli army had attacked and destroyed more than 4000 houses and facilities equipped with solar energy systems in the area. These facilities are important lifelines for providing alternative electricity and operating hospital medical equipment. In addition, local wells, desalination plants, schools, bakeries, factories, basic household facilities, and other important departments have been affected. Due to the escalation of the blockade and ongoing attacks, the Gaza Strip has experienced power outages for over 550 consecutive days. The office calls on the international community and United Nations agencies, especially the Human Rights Council, to shoulder their legal and moral responsibilities, take immediate action to stop this genocide war and the ongoing attacks on civilians and important facilities in the Gaza Strip, and calls on donor agencies and rescue organizations to provide fast and safe alternative power generation systems to ensure the continuity of basic services in the Gaza Strip, particularly health, education, water supply, environment, and food services.
