China condemns Israel’s airstrikes on Syria and urges Israel to withdraw from Syrian territory as soon as possible

On April 11th, Geng Shuang, Charg é d’affaires ad interim of the Chinese Permanent Mission to the United Nations, spoke at the emergency public meeting of the Security Council on the Syrian issue, condemning Israel’s airstrikes on Syria last week and urging Israel to immediately stop its attacks and withdraw from Syrian territory as soon as possible. Geng Shuang said that last week, Israel launched airstrikes on multiple targets in Syria, causing significant casualties and damage to facilities. Israel’s actions seriously violate international law and seriously infringe upon Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. The 1974 Agreement on Separation of Forces should be adhered to, and the United Nations forces should be guaranteed to perform their duties as authorized.
