Abu Dhabi, April 9th (Xinhua) – The “Invest in China” China (Guangxi) – UAE Economic and Trade Cooperation Matchmaking Conference was recently held in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi.
This docking meeting is jointly hosted by the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the United Arab Emirates. More than 100 people attended, including officials from the Chinese and Arab governments, representatives from the business community, key enterprises and business associations from member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
In his speech, Blue Sky Li, Chairman of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, stated that Guangxi will further deepen industrial cooperation with the United Arab Emirates, expand economic and trade exchanges, share opportunities for the development of artificial intelligence, and strengthen cooperation with maritime ports.
Zhao Liang, Acting Charg é d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy in the United Arab Emirates, said that the UAE is an important economic and trade partner of China in West Asia and North Africa. China adheres to high-level opening-up and welcomes investment from UAE enterprises.
UAE Minister of Economy Abdullah bin Tuk Mali stated that the economic partnership between the UAE and China is diverse and resilient, and the UAE is willing to play a global trade and investment gateway role to promote continuous deepening of cooperation between the two sides in the field of new economy.
The theme of this docking meeting is “jointly building the the Belt and Road: new opportunities for economic and trade cooperation between Guangxi and the United Arab Emirates”. At the meeting, Guangxi enterprises signed multiple cooperation agreements with Afghanistan, with a total amount exceeding 85 million US dollars.
