On April 8th, Ukrainian President Zelensky stated in a routine video speech on the 7th local time that he had listened to the report of Ukrainian Army Commander in Chief Sersky and learned about the situation on the front line as well as the Ukrainian military’s operations in Kursk and Belgorod Oblast, Russia. Zelensky stated that the continued active actions of the Ukrainian military in the border areas of Russian territory are a legitimate response. This is Zelensky’s first official statement that the Ukrainian army is fighting in the Belgorod Oblast of Russia.
