On April 8th, US President Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu on the 7th local time. After the meeting, Netanyahu stated that he had discussed with Trump about reaching a new Gaza ceasefire and exchange of detainees agreement, and hoped that future new agreements would be successful. He emphasized that Israel is still committed to releasing all Israeli detainees and eliminating the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip. He also stated that he and Trump discussed plans to relocate Palestinians out of Gaza. Netanyahu said that Trump has put forward a “bold” idea, and both sides have discussed it, including which countries may be willing to accept Palestinians. In addition, both sides also discussed the situation in Syria and the Iranian nuclear issue.
