On April 8th, a spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Investigation announced on April 7th that the US Department of Justice has abolished a “zero tolerance” policy regarding gun distribution. The policy requires that if a gun dealer intentionally sells firearms to convicted felons or other individuals prohibited from holding firearms, or fails to conduct background checks, falsify records, or fails to respond to law enforcement requests to help track firearms used in crime, the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), which regulates the gun industry, will revoke the license of the gun dealer.
