On April 6th, the recent announcement of new tariff policies by the US government has raised concerns among American economic analysts. They predict that the new tariff policy will further push up US prices and bring greater living burdens to consumers. The Tax Foundation, a think tank in the United States, predicts that the average import tax in the country will soar from 2.5% last year to 19% this year, the highest since 1933. The foundation also stated that the after tax income of the American working class will decrease by an average of 2.1% this year, while the average annual consumption of ordinary American households will increase by $2100. JPMorgan analysts pointed out that the new tariff policy of the United States will make Americans pay more than 660 billion dollars in taxes a year. Prices will soar again, and the long-standing high inflation rate in the United States will be pushed up again.
