On April 5th, according to a document obtained by the media and sources familiar with the matter, the Trump administration in the United States restarted a military sales plan last month to sell over 20000 American made assault rifles to Israel. The document shows that the US State Department issued a notice to the US Congress on March 6th regarding this arms sale, stating that the Israeli National Police Force will be the user of this batch of rifles. At the end of 2023, the Israeli government ordered approximately 24000 assault rifles from the United States. Due to the increasing violence by extremist Israeli settlers in the West Bank, some comments suggested that this arms sale may fall into the hands of extremist settlers.
