On April 5th, local time, automotive industry giant Stellantis announced that due to the serious impact of Trump’s tariff policies on the industry, they have decided to lay off 900 employees at their five US factories and suspend production operations at two assembly plants in Canada and Mexico. Multinational automobile manufacturing company Stellantis Group announced that the Chrysler assembly plant located in Windsor, Canada will suspend production from the 7th to the 21st of this month. This factory has approximately 4000 employees and is one of three factories owned by Stellantis in Canada. The Jeep assembly plant in Toluca, Mexico will also shut down for about a month. Many employees of Stellantis have expressed concerns about the shutdown.
