The new generation of ultra-thin sails with high reflectivity helps achieve high-speed space travel

On April 2nd, scientists from Brown University in the United States and Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands developed a new generation of ultra-thin sails with extremely strong reflective ability by combining ultra-thin and highly reflective materials with artificial intelligence (AI) optimized nanoscale design. This reflector, propelled by laser radiation pressure, has the potential to achieve high-speed space travel. The relevant paper was published in the latest issue of the journal Nature Communications.
