Chinese Association for Science and Technology Chairman Wan Gang: Coordinating the coordinated development of liquid power batteries, solid-liquid hybrid batteries, all solid state batteries, and other technologies

On March 29th, at the China Electric Vehicle Hundred People Forum 2025 held today, Wan Gang, Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology, stated that efforts will be made to promote the coordinated development of liquid power batteries, solid-liquid hybrid batteries, and all solid state batteries. After years of effort, solid-liquid hybrid batteries have been developed and applied, effectively reducing the amount of organic electrolyte used and improving the safety of the battery. Next, we need to further accelerate the breakthrough of technological bottlenecks such as cost, environmental adaptability, and cycle life to promote the systematic and industrial development of solid-liquid hybrid batteries. For all solid state batteries, the global market is still in the stage of overall research and development and pilot testing. Therefore, it is necessary to continue to strengthen the research and development of key scientific, engineering, and industrial technical challenges for all solid state batteries. Looking towards the future, we still need to strengthen research in cutting-edge basic fields such as lithium sulfur batteries, lithium air batteries, and rare metals, in order to enhance our ability for original innovation.
