On March 29th, a US federal judge issued a preliminary injunction on March 28th local time, preventing the Trump administration from dissolving the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and preventing the agency from mass layoffs of employees. The judge stated that the Trump administration must restore and retain the contracts, data, and operational capabilities of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, while ensuring the ability of employees to fulfill their statutory duties. In addition, the judge also requested that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau provide fully equipped office space for all employees or allow them to work remotely, and maintain a consumer hotline.
