UN Secretary General condemns Israel’s attack on Gaza and calls for immediate resumption of ceasefire

On March 25th, the United Nations Secretary General issued a statement through a spokesperson on March 24th, stating that Israel has launched devastating attacks on the Gaza Strip over the past week, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of civilians, including UN staff. Meanwhile, since early March, Gaza has been cut off from humanitarian aid supplies. Guterres reiterated that all parties to the conflict must always strictly abide by international law, respect and protect civilians, immediately stop obstructing humanitarian aid, and unconditionally release all detained persons. All countries should use all feasible diplomatic and economic means to exert pressure, stop conflicts, ensure respect for international law, and put an end to the phenomenon of impunity. Guterres once again calls for an immediate resumption of the ceasefire to end the ongoing suffering.
