Peskov: Russian President’s order to suspend strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities still valid

On March 23rd, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Peskov stated that President Putin’s order to suspend strikes on Ukraine’s energy facilities is still in effect. If Ukraine fails to stop its attacks on Russian energy facilities, the leaders of Russia and the United States may re engage as a result. Peskov said that the leaders of Russia and the United States have agreed to continue contacts when necessary. Peskov also stated that the upcoming Russia US talks in Saudi Arabia on March 24th will not be easy. He said that the two countries will mainly discuss whether the Russian president agrees to restore the Black Sea Food Agreement initiative. Peskov also pointed out that when implementing the initiative, “we have fulfilled all our obligations, but we have never fulfilled our obligations.” Peskov also said that Russia and the United States still have a long way to go in resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and there is no need to be too optimistic about the prospects.
