On March 22, the ceremony for the commissioning and grid connection of the Honghe Power Plant expansion project was held in Kaiyuan City, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province, marking the successful grid connection of the world’s first 700 MW ultra supercritical circulating fluidized bed coal-fired power generation unit. Since the approval of the Honghe Power Plant expansion project, the goal of completing the construction from the first concrete pouring to grid connected power generation has been achieved in just 21 months, setting a record for the shortest construction period of similar units.
