6 teachers killed in armed attack in Papua province, Indonesia

On March 22nd, Indonesian police confirmed that an armed attack occurred in Yahukimo County, Papua Province, resulting in the death of six teachers. The local police chief, Khru Hidayanto, stated that the attack occurred around 4:00 pm local time on the 21st. Preliminary investigation shows that the armed group first killed a teacher outside a house, then killed five teachers inside the house and set fire to the building. The police stated that they have not yet determined which armed group is responsible for the attack, and the identity of the victims is being verified.
