281 staff members of the Near East Relief and Works Agency have died in this round of the Israeli Palestinian conflict

On March 22, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) released a report on the 21st local time (data as of March 18, 2025), stating that, according to the statistics of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, since Israel issued a new evacuation order to several areas in the Gaza Strip on March 18, a total of 19 blocks in the strip have been directly affected, including 13 blocks in the north of Gaza and 6 blocks in the east of Khan Younis, with about 30000 and 35000 people respectively affected. The Near East Relief Agency manages 116 shelters in the Gaza Strip, where approximately 148000 displaced persons reside. The report also stated that since the outbreak of the Israeli Palestinian conflict on October 7, 2023, as of March 11, 2025, 311 Near East Relief Agency facilities have been affected by conflict related events, with some facilities even being affected multiple times. Meanwhile, at least 738 people who took refuge in the facility of the institution have died, and the number of injured has exceeded 2401. In addition, as of now, this round of conflict has resulted in the death of 281 staff members of the Near East Relief and Works Agency.
