Chinese language courses will enter Mozambique’s public high schools for the first time

Kampala, March 20 (Xinhua) — Maputo News: The Confucius Institute at the University of Mondlane in Mozambique signed a memorandum of cooperation with two public high schools in Mozambique on the 19th to offer Chinese language courses. Officials from the Ministry of Education, the Chinese and foreign deans of the Confucius Institute of the University of Mongolia, and the principals of two high schools attended the signing ceremony held at the Confucius Institute of the University of Mongolia on that day.

Sabino Kongolo, principal of Francisco Maniyanga High School, and Orlando Dima, principal of Josina Machel High School, who participated in the signing, both expressed their honor that their schools have become the first high schools in Mozambique to offer Chinese language courses, marking an important step forward in international education. The establishment of Chinese language courses will provide valuable opportunities for our students to learn Chinese language and culture, which will help enhance their competitiveness in future academic and career development.

Liu Jichao, the Chinese dean of the Confucius Institute at the University of Mongolia, stated that language is a bridge connecting civilizations, and this cooperation will help strengthen the economic and cultural ties between China and Mozambique. He looks forward to Mozambican students contributing to the friendly cooperation between the two countries in the future.
