Alphabet reportedly in talks to acquire cloud security company Wiz for $33 billion

On March 18th, according to insiders, Alphabet Inc. is in talks to acquire cloud security company Wiz Inc. for $33 billion, restarting negotiations that were canceled last summer after lengthy talks. The deal, which could be announced as early as Tuesday, will be Alphabet’s largest acquisition to date and could help its subsidiary Google catch up with Microsoft and Amazon in the fiercely competitive cloud computing market. The transaction terms have not been finalized yet and may still change, or negotiations may end without reaching an agreement.
