On March 7th, OpenAI and Oracle plan to deploy hundreds of thousands of powerful AI chips from Nvidia to a newly built large data center in Abilene, Texas in the coming months, as part of the first facility launch and operation of their $100 billion Stargate infrastructure project. According to insiders, by the end of 2026, the data center is expected to install 64000 highly sought after GB200 semiconductor chips from Nvidia. The person stated that these chips will be installed in multiple halls of the data center in stages, with the first batch of 16000 chips planned to be deployed before this summer.
