French President Macron: Refuse to sign a fragile ceasefire agreement between Russia and Ukraine

On the evening of March 5th local time, French President Macron delivered a public speech on the eve of the EU special summit. Macron stated that Europe’s ally, the United States, has changed its stance in this conflict, reducing support for Ukraine and adding more uncertainty to Europe’s future security and prosperity. He believes that the path to peace cannot be achieved by abandoning Ukraine, and therefore refuses to sign a fragile ceasefire agreement between Russia and Ukraine. Meanwhile, he stated that once a peace agreement is signed, Europe may need to deploy troops in Ukraine to ensure respect for the agreement by all parties.
