On February 28th, Ukrainian President Zelensky is expected to visit the United States on the 28th and meet with US President Trump to sign an agreement on the development of Ukraine’s mineral resources. Ukrainian Prime Minister Shmeqar confirmed on the 26th that the Ukrainian side has approved the final version of the agreement. As the mineral agreement between the United States and Ukraine, which has been in a tug of war for many days, is about to be signed, both sides are still holding their own views on the interpretation of the agreement. At the press conference, Trump further emphasized the economic nature of the mineral agreement. Trump stated that the agreement reached with Zelensky will make the United States a partner in Ukraine’s mineral, rare earth, oil, and natural gas development. American taxpayers will be effectively compensated for the funds spent in Ukraine, and the mineral agreement will become the foundation of future relations between the United States and Ukraine. In addition, Trump also revealed that he will meet with Zelensky at 11:00 AM Eastern Time on the 28th.
