Egypt and Russia’s foreign ministers discuss the situation in Gaza and Syria over the phone

On February 28th, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 27th that Egyptian Foreign Minister Abdullati had a phone call with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov on the same day, and the two sides exchanged views on the situation in the Gaza Strip and Syria. According to reports, Abdulhati reiterated Egypt’s opposition to the expulsion of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and emphasized the need for a permanent and just political solution to the Palestinian issue. Egypt is formulating a plan to rebuild the Gaza Strip by allowing Palestinians to stay on their own land. Egypt is working hard to ensure the sustainability of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. The two foreign ministers also discussed the latest developments in Syria. Abdulhati reiterated that Egypt supports Syria and respects its sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. The two foreign ministers also discussed the bilateral relations between Egypt and Russia. Abdulhati highly praised the cooperation between the two countries in various fields such as oil, natural gas, tourism, and aviation, especially mentioning the Daba nuclear power plant project in Egypt and the Russian industrial park project in the Suez Canal Economic Zone in Egypt.
