Cui Dongshu, a member of the China Passenger Car Association, raised the forecast for retail sales of passenger cars in 2025 to 23.43 million units

On February 24th, Cui Dongshu, Secretary General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), issued a statement stating that based on the good performance of the passenger car industry data released in January 2025, and considering the good policy orientation of national policy promotion fees in 2025 and future environmental changes, the CAAM forecasting team fine tuned the industry’s annual forecast for 2025 in mid February. 2025 Passenger Car Retail Forecast: The retail sales of passenger cars in 2025 will be 23.43 million units, an increase of 2%, and the total forecast will increase by 70000 units compared to the January forecast. 2025 Passenger Car Export Forecast: Passenger car exports will reach 5.27 million units by 2025, an increase of 10%, while the total forecast will decrease by 30000 units compared to the January forecast. Forecast for wholesale of new energy passenger vehicles in 2025: 15.65 million units of new energy passenger vehicles will be produced in 2025, an increase of 28%, and the total predicted quantity will decrease by 30000 units compared to the January forecast. 2025 National Automobile Wholesale Forecast: 32.66 million units by 2025, an increase of 4%, with a predicted total decrease of 10000 units compared to the January forecast.
