New scientific research achievement in China: Quantum direct communication is expected to enter practical applications

On February 22nd, it was reported from the Beijing Institute of Quantum Information Science that a Chinese research team has proposed the theory of unidirectional quantum direct communication and successfully developed a practical system, setting a stable transmission record of 168 hours and 2.38kbps in a 104.8km standard fiber optic communication experiment. Quantum direct communication has moved from theoretical conception to practical application stage. This research was completed in collaboration with relevant teams from Beijing Institute of Quantum Information Science, Tsinghua University, and North China University of Technology. The related research papers have been published in the academic journal “Scientific Progress”. (Beijing Daily)
