Over $80 million in funding revoked, New York City sues Trump administration

On February 22, New York City sued the Trump administration on February 21 for revoking $80.5 million in funding due to the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s improper handling of immigration in New York City. Previously, four Federal Emergency Management Agency employees were fired for bypassing leadership and unilaterally paying huge fees for hotels in New York City used to accommodate illegal immigrants. The Trump administration withdrew over $80 million from bank accounts in New York City on the evening of the 11th, most of which was used to pay for hotel expenses for immigrants.
