28 civilians killed in attack east of Sudan’s capital Khartoum

On February 19th, the local organization “Tonilo River Observatory” in Sudan issued a statement on February 18th local time, stating that the Tonilo River area east of the Sudanese capital Khartoum has recently been attacked by armed militants from the Sudan Rapid Support Force, resulting in the death of 28 civilians in the past week. The statement stated that members of the Rapid Support Force robbed property and opened fire on local residents in the Tonlo River area, causing serious casualties and causing severe damage to the local water and power supply systems. A large number of residents were forced to flee their homes. The statement calls on the international community to take intervention actions to protect local civilians and provide them with emergency food and medical assistance. The Rapid Support Force has not yet responded to this statement.
