The fashion show was held at the historic Tugu Building in the old town of Jakarta, showcasing the fashion collections of renowned Indonesian fashion designers Adrian Gan and Sebastian Gunawan, as well as the works of jewelry designer Rinaldi Yunadi. The fashion show is set against the backdrop of Jakarta’s historic old town, blending traditional Chinese clothing with modern elements.
Gunawan’s fashion design is themed around “improvement”, meaning a change towards a more positive direction. He hopes that Jakarta’s old town can develop into a popular tourist destination.
The old city of Jakarta is home to numerous old buildings from the Dutch colonial period, leaving a profound imprint of Chinese culture. The local government continues to develop the tourism industry in the old city through a series of revitalization measures, aiming to attract more overseas tourists to visit.
