US envoy: Participants in Russia Ukraine peace talks will not include European countries

On February 17th, Kellogg, the US government’s special envoy for the Russia Ukraine issue, stated at the Munich Security Conference on February 15th that the participants in the Russia Ukraine peace talks will not include European countries. Kellogg also explained that the US believes the reason for the failure of the new Minsk agreement is that “many people involved in the negotiations at that time really did not have the ability to implement some type of peace process,” so the US “will not repeat the same mistake. It is reported that the negotiating parties of the new Minsk Agreement in 2015 include Russia, Ukraine, Germany, and France. The European side immediately expressed opposition to this statement and plans to hold its own summit to discuss the Ukrainian issue. According to French Foreign Minister Barrow’s confirmation on the 16th, French President Macron will hold a meeting in Paris on February 17th, inviting multiple European countries to attend and discuss European security issues.
